Estimated WW Points: 4 Points per serving
Exact Points can vary depending on the bread and dried beef brands you use.

Ingredients

  • 4 oz dried chipped beef, sliced into thin strips
  • 2 cups unsweetened almond milk
  • ½ cup fat-free evaporated milk
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp light butter
  • ½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Pinch of paprika
  • 8 slices light or low-calorie sandwich bread
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • Chopped parsley, optional

Instructions

  1. Place the chipped beef in a colander and quickly rinse it under cool water. Pat dry with paper towels. This helps remove some of the extra salt.
  2. Melt the light butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the chipped beef and cook for about 1–2 minutes, just until warmed and slightly browned around the edges.
  4. Sprinkle the flour over the beef and stir continuously for about 1 minute.
  5. Slowly pour in the almond milk and evaporated milk, whisking as you add them so the sauce stays smooth.
  6. Add the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and paprika.
  7. Reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 4–6 minutes, stirring frequently, until the sauce becomes thick and creamy.
  8. If the gravy gets thicker than you like, add another splash of almond milk.
  9. Toast the bread until golden and crisp.
  10. Place 2 slices of toast on each plate and spoon a generous amount of the creamed chipped beef over the top.
  11. Finish with extra black pepper or a little parsley if desired.

I always rinse the dried beef before making this now. The first time I skipped that step, the gravy tasted way saltier once everything reduced. A quick rinse doesn’t take away the flavor at all, and I like letting the toast get pretty crisp before adding the gravy because it stays sturdy underneath instead of immediately turning soggy.
