Confession time: I was this close to ordering real churros from a dessert place… but then I remembered my air fryer and a little WW magic. ✨
So, I made these mini Air Fryer Churro Bites — crisp on the outside, soft inside, and dusted with cinnamon sugar so good it feels slightly illegal. 😅
They taste like something from a street fair, but here’s the twist: they’re WW-friendly and ready in minutes. Sweet victory, literally.
Ingredients
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup water
- 2 tbsp light butter or reduced-fat margarine
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tbsp sugar substitute (like Stevia or Monk Fruit)
- 1 large egg
- Pinch of salt
- Nonstick cooking spray
For the coating:
- 2 tbsp sugar substitute (or 1 tbsp sugar + 1 tbsp Stevia mix)
- ½ tsp cinnamon
Instructions
- In a small pot, combine water, light butter, salt, and sugar substitute. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and add flour gradually, stirring until a smooth dough forms.
- Let it cool for 4–5 minutes.
- Add the egg and vanilla, then mix until the dough becomes smooth and glossy.
- Transfer to a piping bag (or a zip bag with the tip cut).
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and spray the basket with nonstick spray.
- Pipe small bite-sized portions (don’t overcrowd).
- Air fry for 8–10 minutes until golden and crisp.
- While still warm, toss the bites in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Serve immediately with a dip of your choice — sugar-free chocolate syrup or light caramel sauce are chef’s kiss. 😍
WW Tips
- Use a zero-calorie spray butter to help the coating stick instead of melted butter.
- Each 4-bite serving is about 3–4 WW Points, depending on your sugar substitute.
- For extra crispness, air fry for 1–2 extra minutes before coating.
