Margherita Garlic Toasts (WW Friendly)

Ingredients

  • 8 slices light Italian bread or low-point baguette
  • 1 cup sugar-free marinara sauce
  • 8 slices reduced-fat fresh mozzarella
  • 2 medium tomatoes, sliced
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and black pepper
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
  • Cooking spray or light butter spray

Instructions

1. Prepare the Bread

Place bread slices onto a parchment-lined baking tray.

Lightly spray with cooking spray or butter spray.

Sprinkle with garlic powder and Italian seasoning.

Bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes until lightly crispy.


2. Add the Toppings

Spread a spoonful of marinara sauce onto each toast.

Top with:

  • mozzarella slices
  • tomato slices
  • parmesan cheese
  • black pepper

Add a small basil leaf on top.


3. Bake

Return to the oven and bake for another 8–10 minutes until:

  • cheese is melted
  • tomatoes soften slightly
  • edges become golden

Broil 1 minute at the end if you want extra browning.
