Ultra Low-Point Cheesy Hamburger Green Bean Casserole (WW Friendly)

Tender green beans…

And somehow this version still keeps the points much lower while keeping that rich loaded casserole look from the photo.

The crispy onion topping with the melty cheese underneath is honestly the dangerous part 😄

Ingredients

Casserole

  • 1 lb lean ground turkey or extra lean ground beef
  • 4 cups green beans
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can reduced-fat cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup reduced-fat cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup reduced-fat mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper

Topping

  • 1 cup crispy fried onions light version
    OR
  • air-fried onion strips for lower points

Instructions

1. Cook the Meat

Heat a large skillet over medium heat.

Cook ground turkey or lean beef with diced onion until browned.

Add garlic, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Drain excess liquid if needed.


2. Prepare the Sauce

In a bowl mix:

  • cream of mushroom soup
  • Greek yogurt
  • cheddar cheese
  • mozzarella cheese

Stir until creamy.


3. Assemble the Casserole

In a baking dish combine:

  • cooked meat
  • green beans
  • cheese mixture

Mix everything together evenly.

Top with extra cheese if desired.


4. Bake

Bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 20–25 minutes until hot and bubbly.


5. Add the Crispy Topping

Top with crispy onions.

Bake another 5 minutes until golden brown and crunchy.

Serve hot while the cheese is still melty.
