Crispy Southern-Style Shrimp (WW Friendly)

Crispy Southern-Style Shrimp (WW Friendly)

Some days you just want something crunchy, cozy, and a little indulgent — without blowing your points. These Southern-style shrimp hit that sweet spot. Golden on the outside, juicy on the inside, and honestly… they disappear fast once they hit the plate.

Perfect for a quick dinner, game night, or when you’re craving “fried” food without the fryer guilt.

📝 Ingredients

Makes about 4 servings

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined (0 points)
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • ¾ cup whole wheat breadcrumbs or light panko
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • Cooking spray

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prep the shrimp
Pat shrimp dry with paper towels — this helps everything stick and crisp up nicely.

2. Set up your breading station

  • Bowl 1: flour
  • Bowl 2: beaten eggs
  • Bowl 3: breadcrumbs mixed with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper

3. Bread the shrimp
Dip each shrimp into flour (shake off extra), then egg, then press lightly into the seasoned breadcrumbs.

4. Air fry

  • Preheat air fryer to 400°F (200°C)
  • Spray basket lightly with cooking spray
  • Place shrimp in a single layer (work in batches if needed)
  • Spray tops lightly and cook 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy

5. Serve immediately
Best enjoyed hot and crunchy — dipping sauce optional, but encouraged 😉
