This crustless pizza bake is pure comfort food without the heaviness. It’s cheesy, saucy, and packed with toppings, but skips the crust so you can enjoy a generous portion and stay on track. Perfect for busy weeknights, meal prep, or when a pizza craving hits hard.
Ingredients
- 1 jar RAO’s marinara
- 1 lb lean Italian chicken sausage or turkey sausage
(regular pork sausage works, but raises points) - 3 cups part-skim mozzarella, shredded
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- Mushrooms, sliced
- Onion, chopped
(Use any pizza toppings you love — olives, spinach, banana peppers, etc.)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pour ½ cup marinara into the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix:
- Cooked sausage
- Vegetables
- 1 cup mozzarella
- 1 cup marinara
- Spread mixture evenly into the baking dish.
- Sprinkle the remaining 2 cups mozzarella over the top.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Broil an additional 3–5 minutes until bubbly and lightly browned.
- Let rest 5 minutes, then serve.
