Ingredients
Burger Sauce (Low-Point Version)
- 1/2 cup non-fat Greek yogurt
- 2 tbsp sugar-free ketchup
- 1 tbsp sugar-free BBQ sauce
- 1 tbsp drained sweet relish
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 tsp hot sauce (optional)
Bun Dough (Low-Points / Lighter Version)
- 2 cups oat flour (or whole wheat flour)
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2/3 cup warm skim milk
- 1 tsp yeast
Burger Filling
- 12 oz lean ground turkey or 93% lean beef
- 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 6 slices reduced-fat cheddar cheese (cut each slice in half → 12 halves)
- 12 small pickle slices
Instructions
1. Make the Sauce
- Mix Greek yogurt, sugar-free ketchup, sugar-free BBQ, relish, mustard, and hot sauce. Chill in the fridge until ready to serve.
2. Prepare the Bun Dough
- In a bowl, combine oat flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add olive oil, skim milk, and yeast. Knead into a soft, smooth dough.
- Cover and let rise for 45–60 minutes until slightly doubled.
3. Caramelize the Onions
- In a small pan, heat 1 tsp olive oil.
- Cook sliced onions over low heat for 10–15 minutes until soft and lightly caramelized.
4. Make the Burger Patties
- Divide the meat into 12 small patties. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
5. Assemble the Sliders
- Divide dough into 12 portions and roll each into a small round.
- Place caramelized onions in the center, then a burger patty, a half slice of reduced-fat cheddar, and a pickle.
- Fold the edges of the dough over the filling to seal and form a bun shape.
6. Steam the Buns
- Prepare the steamer. Place each bun on a parchment square in the steamer basket.
- Steam for 10–12 minutes until cooked through.
7. Serve
- Let cool for 5 minutes. Serve with the low-point burger sauce.
WW / Low-Points Tips
- Using lean turkey or lean beef reduces points by 1–2.
- Greek yogurt-based sauce saves 2–3 points vs mayo-based sauce.
- Small buns made with oat flour = ~3 points per slider.
Total: ~5–6 WW points per slider — big flavor, full appearance, but lighter points!
